Day 1
Meeting at Tbilisi International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
Sightseeing tour in the historical part of Tbilisi
Metekhi Plateau, the Bridge of Peace, Abanotubani (bath district, the ancient district of Tbilisi, known for its sulphuric baths), Square of three Churches, Narikala Fortress, Sioni Cathedral, Tbilisi State Puppet Theater named after Rezo Gabriadze, Anchiskhati Basilica of St Mary (VI century – the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi).
Dinner at a restaurant with a “Georgian program”.
Day 2
Excursion to the ancient capital of Georgia, to the city of Mtskheta
Jvari Monastery (VI century), which is located on the top of a mountain, from the slopes of which one can see how the jets of two rivers merge – Kura and Aragvi; Zedazen Monastery (a place with stunning landscapes); Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
Lunch in Mtskheta with wine.
Return to Tbilisi.
Day 3
Excursion to Gergeti Trinity Church
On the way, visit Ananuri fortress (XVI century); near the village of Pasanauri there is an amazing place that attracts thousands of tourists – this is the confluence of two rivers, the White and Black Aragvi; next stop at the observation deck on the top of the mountain with a panoramic view, at the arch of friendship of nations. Holy Trinity Church in Gergeti – among all the churches of Europe located in the alpine zone, the Gergeti Trinity is located at the highest point – 2200 m. The church is located at the foot of the Mkinvartsveri peak (from Georgian “ice peak” or “glacier peak”; Mount Kazbek is a dormant stratovolcano and one of the major mountains of the Caucasus. Mount Kazbek is the third-highest peak in Georgia and the seventh-highest summit in the Caucasus Mountains). Next stop at the Gveleti waterfall.
Dinner and overnight in Stepantsminda.
Day 4
Horseback riding, stunning scenery
Juta – an alpine village in the Sno Gorge, located on the southern slope of the main ridge of the Caucasus, in the valley of the Snotskali River (right tributary of the Terga), 2200 meters above sea level, 20 kilometers from Stepantsminda.
In the afternoon – return to Tbilisi. On the way, lunch in Pasanauri (urban-type settlement).
Day 5
Excursion to Kakheti for Georgian wine tour
Visit to the winery KTW (Kakhetian traditional winemaking), wine tasting; on the way, stop in the village of Badiauri, which is famous for its delicious Kakhetian Shoti bread and cheese – tasting Chacha (Georgian strong alcoholic drink), “Dedas puri” (mother’s bread); you can buy spices, Churchkhela (traditional Georgian national delicacy). Bodbe monastery – a convent of the Bodbe diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church; Sighnaghi – the city of love, is located on terraces connected by winding steep streets.
Dinner and overnight in Sighnaghi.
Day 6
Wine tour in Kvareli
Kvareli is a town in northeastern in Kakheti Province, located in the Alazani Valley, near the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Visit to the wine cellar “Gvirabi” (tunnel); corporation “Kindzmarauli” (one of the largest wineries in Kakheti); Telavi – the main city and administrative center of Georgia’s eastern province of Kakheti.
Lunch at the wine cellar.
In the evening return to Tbilisi and dinner at the restaurant.
Day 7
Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport.
The price will include: hotel accommodation with breakfast in the center of Tbilisi, Stepantsminda and Kvareli (or Sighnaghi), guide services, all transfers during the tour, ascent to the Gergeti Trinity, horseback riding, wine tastings, accommodation with Half Board in Stepantsminda and Kvareli.
The price will not include: travel insurance, meals (approximately USD 20 per person).
