The program on this day depends on the arrival time: acquaintance with a “City full of life” – this is how Tbilisi will meet you.
We will visit: the Metekhi plateau, which overlooks the old city; the Narikala fortress of the 4th century; Abanotubani – the Bath Quarter, famous for its complex of baths standing on natural sulfur springs; the area of 3 churches – a place, where the Orthodox church, Synagogue and Mosque coexist nearby.
We will walk along the old streets, with many cafes, galleries, souvenir shops, tell the stories of old houses and unique entrances that will surprise you with their architecture, painting and history… And also see the modern glass bridge – Bridge of Peace, a symbol of friendship and peace that connects the narrow streets of the Old City with Rike Park.
If desired, you can dine in the city restaurant for an extra charge.
2 day
After breakfast, we head to the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta (25 km from Tbilisi).
On the way, we will visit the Jvari monastery (VI century), which stands on a high mountain and is immortalized by Mikhail Lermontov in the poem “The Novice” (“Mtsyri”).
Tasting Georgian wines in the cellar “Saguramo”.
Further, Mtskheta – we will visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the pride of Georgian architecture, built in 1010-1029, at the burial place of the Robe of Christ. Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Samtavro Transfiguration Orthodox Church and Nunnery of St. Nino is located at the confluence of the Mtkvari (Kura) and Aragvi rivers. It is believed that the first church on this place was built in the IV century by King Mirian III.
Return to Tbilisi and a short rest.
Festive Dinner in a city restaurant with national cuisine, wine and the special program.
3 day
Day Tour in Kakheti.
After breakfast, departure to Kakheti – the birthplace of wine!
Through the Gombori pass (altitude 1620 m.), arrival in Telavi (100 km. from Tbilisi) – sightseeing tour of the city.
A visit to the Tsinandali house-museum and the estate of Alexander Chavchavadze, was the first who established European-style wine production in Georgia; we will visit his residence and take a walk in the park.
Departure to Kvareli (50 km.), on the way will visit Gremi – a 16th-century architectural monument, the royal citadel and the Church of the Archangels.
Tasting modern vintage wines and lunch at the winery of Kindzmarauli Corporation.
Return to Tbilisi.
4 day
After breakfast, we suggest a visit to the Tbilisi Vernissage on a “Dry Bridge” to buy souvenirs and products of Georgian artisans.
In the evening, dinner in a restaurant with national cuisine (for an extra charge).
5 day
